Well a level day for us today and I can’t help but feeling that it should of been so much better.
First up was Broughtons Day (3pts win @5/2). He had won at Kempton yesterday and off the same mark here I thought he would take some beating. He travelled handily and was looking for room going into the final turn. He was done no favours as he was caught behind horses when wanting to make a forward run, however when he got the space he didn’t pick up at all and has to go down as disappointing.
We then had Falmouth Bay (2pts win @6/4) Although 7/4 was available with Skybet, we will settle at 6/4 as the majority of real bookmakers were that price. We have know for almost 6 weeks that this one would win first time up as he has been working so well at home, beating subsequent winners with ease. I am slightly annoyed as my contact in Johnstons wouldn’t hear of defeat, it goes against the grain for me however to advise big bets on unraced horses so i kept to 2pts, maybe it should have been more given the strenth of the info but i can only play it as i see fit and have made a mistake today.
He was backed off the boards as the morning fav drifted. Eventually going off at 4/6 and never having a moments worry. So a level day for us so no harm done.
There is a possible maximum coming up in the next few weeks! Don’t miss it!!!
